Free live streaming sites often load some phishing/malicious site but those never infected any of my Firefox file before. My question is what is the content of this file and how this file was infected by a malware. Locked or damaged places.sqlite From MozillaZine Knowledge Base Jump to: navigation, search Starting in Firefox 3, bookmarks and browsing history are stored in the places.sqlite file, located in the Firefox profile folder. Luckily I had a backup of my Firefox profile from a week ago and I replaced the existing places.sqlite file with the old one and everything started working normally again. Fixed bug: MozillaHistoryView failed to open the history file of Firefox 3 (places.sqlite) when the browser was opened. If you have a recent profile backup, another possible solution is to remove the 'places.sqlite' file (and any other files named 'places.sqlite', e.g., 'places.sqlite-journal', if found) from the Firefox profile folder and replace it with the 'places.sqlite' backup file. For example if I typed "red." it won't suggest reddit for me from the past browsing history and no search engine suggestions either but it would work if I pressed the backspace button after typing something. It should appear in alphabetical order right after or right before the places-old.sqlite file. Next, copy the old places.sqlite file from your backup into this folder. After the match I restarted the pc but then the auto complete function of Firefox in the address bar stopped working. If you see files named places.sqlite-shm or places.sqlite-wal, which normally would not be there while Firefox is closed, delete those files. The other day I was watching free live streaming of a football match (The real football ) ) on a website and then Windows Defender detected, quarantined this file "places.sqlite-wal" and asked for a restart to complete the cleaning process. ![]()
